Greetings to IDC New and Old Members,
With the New Year 2010, approaching our paths have changed direction. We (Sacred Circle) have discussed and agreed with joined hands to resign from the Intertribal Deaf Council in order to establish a new organization. Our future goal and mission is to serve our native constituency and provide the five domains of wellness. We are committed to strengthening our native ways and nurturing positive changes among our communities. Sacred Circle will continue with the annual gatherings which will involve educational resources, spiritual enrichment, wellness workshops, and cultural celebration.
Because of 501(c)3 authorization, Teresa Norris as the IDC Executive Director, was left with an intricate decision to dissolve The Intertribal Deaf Council and transfer the remaining IDC resources and funds to Sacred Circle, which will continue to advocate for our native community.
Sacred Circle will continue the planning of the upcoming Gathering that will take place in Oregon in 2010. Tina Terrance will also host the 2011 Gathering on Mohawk Reservation in New York.
More information about the new organization and upcoming gatherings will be posted here within the next few months.
Thank you for you understanding and support.
May Great Spirit give our Brothers and Sisters the wisdom, strength, and faith to walk this sacred path! A'Ho!
